VALERIE Y.C. WONG
Valerie Y.C. Wong is a Shareholder of Wong, Wong & Associates, P.C. and is the firm's Managing Partner. Mrs. Wong is known as an aggressive and confident attorney who's not afraid to go into court and assert her clients' rights. Whether involved in litigation or transactional matters, Mrs. Wong's assertive nature make her a force to be reckoned with. Mrs. Wong's confidence is based upon her mastery of the cases which she works on. She works tirelessly to learn the facts of her cases and the law that governs them. While Mrs. Wong presents a fierce demeanor to her adversaries, she works closely with her clients and many clients find consultation with Mrs. Wong to be very reassuring.
As a dedicated professional, Mrs. Wong knows that preparation is the key to success. Whether she's going into oral argument before an appellate panel or she's engaging in negotiations over the sale price for a piece of property, Mrs. Wong takes the time to learn critical facts to bolster her position and secure the best possible results for her clients. Mrs. Wong has successfully handled a broad array of matters, ranging from business transactions, to criminal litigation, to civil litigation.
Born in mainland China, Mrs. Wong understands the unique needs and concerns facing Chinese and Chinese-Americans attempting to navigate the U.S. legal system. A native Mandarin speaker also fluent in English, Mrs. Wong can directly communicate with clients, court staff, and other parties, thereby avoiding issues that commonly arise when third-party translators are utilized.
Mrs. Wong is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey. She obtained her juris doctorate, cum laude, from New York Law School. She received a Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from Ohio State University and her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Nankai University.
Mrs. Wong is the President of the Chinese American Bar Association. Mrs. Wong is also Treasurer to the Honorable Assistant Majority Leader of New Jersey Senate, Senator Linda Greenstein. Mrs. Wong is also a Member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York, the National Committee on United States-China Relations, the New York State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Counsel of New York, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the New York City Bar Association.
